Applicants
Thank you for applying to CSUDH. CSUDH receives thousands of applications during the application period. Over the next few months, special attention will be given to reviewing each application. Admission decisions will be emailed to you and available on MyCSUDH, the campus portal.
In the meantime, please activate MyCSUDH, check your To Do List, and review the information listed below
Fall 2022 & Spring 2022 Applicants
Watch the tutorial to activate MyCSUDH, your campus portal. Check the portal daily and complete the items on your To Do List. Your portal reflects the most up-to-date admissions information. Additional items may be added to your To Do List at any time.
- Spring 2022 - Applicants are unable to change their major. However, if you are admitted for Spring 2022, you can change your major at the start of the Spring 2022 semester.
- Fall 2022 - Applicants are unable to change their major. However, if you are admitted for Fall 2022, you must change your major by April 1, 2022.
Denied Admissions - Admission decisions are based on the evaluation of the information reported on your Cal State Apply admission application, and/or received academic records. If you want to appeal the admission decision, please visit csudh.edu/admissionappeals for information about the appeals process.
Fall 2022 Applicants
If additional information is needed to complete your application and make an admissions decision, we will post the items on your To Do List.
Spring 2022 Applicants
To be admitted for Spring 2022, applicants must have met the CSU Admission Transfer requirements by the end of the Summer 2021 term.
Upper division students are eligible for admission to the CSU if they meet the following requirements:
- Have completed 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units)
- Have completed at least 30 semester (45 quarter) units of general education courses, graded C- or better in each course including:
- 1 course of 3 semester (4 quarter) units in written communication,
- 1 course of 3 semester (4 quarter) units in oral communication,
- 1 course of 3 semester (4 quarter) units in critical thinking, AND
- 1 course of 3 semester (4 quarter) units in mathematics/quantitative reasoning. The mathematics course must be above the level of intermediate algebra. Go to www.ASSIST.org for listings of CCC courses that meet the general education requirements.
- Have a grade point average of 2.00 or better in all transferable college units attempted; and
- Are in good standing at the last college or university attended (i.e. eligible to re–enroll at that college or university).
This transfer plan clears all course deficiencies that might have occurred in high school.
*BSN applicants refer to the School of Nursing for additional admission criteria.
English Proficiency
If English is not your native language, or you have not had three years (full-time) of your secondary education (or higher) taught in English, you will need to provide proof of your English proficiency. Since most classes are taught in English, you will need to demonstrate your ability to read, write, and speak English. For more information, please review the English Proficiency Requirement.

- September 16, 2021 – Last day to submit an admission application on Cal State Apply.
- October 15, 2021 – Submit all official transcripts and documents to the Office of Admission.
- December 8, 2021 – Accept admission and submit the $125 non-refundable Intent to Enroll Deposit and register and pay the $99 non-refundable New Student Orientation. (NSO) fee. NSO registration is not required for BSN and Applied studies major.
- January 11, 2022 – Attend the mandatory New Student Orientation. BSN and Applied Studies majors are not required to attend the New Student Orientation.
- November 1, 2021 – Last day to submit an admission application on Cal State Apply.
- November 29, 2021 – Submit all official transcripts and documents to the Office of Admission.
- December 8, 2021 – Accept admission and submit the $125 non-refundable Intent to Enroll Deposit.
